Breast tissue is attached to the anterior chest wall by hanging bonds. Following repetitive weight gain over time, recurrent oedema in the breasts due to menstrual cycles, or physiological conditions such as pregnancy and breastfeeding, loosening of bonds hanging the breast tissue and relaxation in the breast skin occur. As a result of these, the breast tissue sags downwards and the fresh appearance of the breast is lost due to excess skin. Breast lift operation is based on these two main points: to bring the breast tissue to its normal anatomical position and to give fullness to the breast by removing the excess skin.
how IS breast LIFT OPERATION PERFORMED?
Because of the removal of the excess skin surrounding the breast tissue during the breast lift operation, generally, a scar of a straight line running down the nipple remains. The ideal nipple point is chosen according to the height of the person, anatomical features of the chest region and the location of the nipple prior to the operation and the breast tissue is moved upwards by the surgical intervention. Breast tissue is shaped and fixed to the anterior chest wall with the help of threads. A drain is used for the drainage of the fluid accumulated in the operation area.
Breast LIFT OPERATION wıth sılıcone protheses
For some patients, who are mostly people with a small breast tissue, nipples not too much below, and a significant amount of involution (can also be called tissue loss) due to breastfeeding, a surgical intervention which we call augmentation mastopexy with a prosthesis placement under the breast or muscle can be performed. The breast can be given the desired fullness and the youthful appearance with a prosthesis large enough to fill the inside of the excess skin.
AFTER Breast LIFT OPERATION
Generally, one night is enough to stay in the hospital. Post -operative process is similar to that in breast reduction operations.
